Another DMV Artist Signed

Marky, Steve Rifkind, Kenny Burns

Congratulations to Marky and Studio 43 for inking the deal yesterday with SRC/Universal.

Street Records Corportation is run by another older white guy, Steve Rifkind, who all I can really say about is that it looks like dudes neck is uncircumcised on his myspace pic. All these record companies and boutique labels that call themselves these hardass names are usually off on the wrong foot with me. You’re basically saying you think I’m stupid by thinking that just because you call yourself “Gun toting Gangsta Records”[1] you think that I’m automatically gonna think that you’re a real street label and buy your shit. SRC/Universal actually does have some legit artists under their belt though(no homo?), like Wu-Tang and one of the illest most underrated lyricists, Pharoahe Monch. (they have Akon too but I fucking hate that dude. At least he sells)

Just another sign that the DMV is coming up.

off Pharoahe Monch’s Desire album that came out last year. Another great album with disappointing record sales.

Vodpod videos no longer available.
